It all boils down to basics

While my work title doesn't have "Sales" in it anymore, I'm amazed at how many skills and techniques I am still
using currently from my old position. Selling Chamber memberships may not result in the purchase of a tangible good, but the
selling process is still much the same.
For instance, while visiting with a customer about possible membership,
I found myself naturally doing what I would have done with a computer sale: find out what the business's goals are and what
pains they have they would like to fix. In other words, ask questions, then shut up and listen. Be prepared with knowledge
to educate, inform and counter obstacles, and then be specific with a close or call to action.
Wow, I guess I was
learning a bit or two from that old boss of mine, but don't let Steve know. It would just make his head swell even bigger.

eat a small chocolate candy bar.
While driving to school, I explained that we didn't make a healthy choice and
I continued to share our family history with overweight struggles. After I told him eating candy-bars and other
junk food snacks makes us gain weight, he said, "Don't we just poop it out?"
Ah, if it were only that
