The New Year has certainly started out interestingly enough. Gerard left for a five-day road trip on Jan. 1 and finally
returned this afternoon. During his absence, Garrett and I had lots of quality time, playing "Sorry" and cards with
Grandpa and Grandma (Grandpa taught little G Black Jack.) We even took in the Harlem Globetrotters and met a few of them
in person for a pre-game signing. Yet, not having Gerard there to spend time with just makes it less special. I'm sure
Gerard really felt left out when Garrett threw up in bed at 3 a.m. Like I said, life is just less special
without Dad there to enjoy it with us (or at least to help with clean up). Happy New Year to us!
